All Aboard the Brand New Mayan Train: Ruins, Flamingos, Chocolate, and Every Vehicle Imaginable! We’ve just wrapped up 8 unforgettable days of adventure, history, and a whole lot of modes of... read more transport in southern Mexico. From exploring the majestic Mayan ruins of Palenque (where the howler monkeys put on a great show) to the colourful charm of Campeche’s walled city, every stop was a new favourite. We rode the new Tren Maya Train like pros, donned hand-woven jipijapa palm hats with flair, and soaked up the mystery of Uxmal in the Puuc region. We learned that chocolate isn’t just delicious—it’s practically sacred (and we respectfully devoured it). Flamingos showed off their style in Sisal’s lagoons, cenotes gave us magical swims, and Merida dazzled with its haciendas and rich culture. We traveled by plane, bus, van, train, moto-taxi, horse cart, and boats that looked suspiciously like bathtubs! Add in some truly amazing traditional cuisine, and let’s just say… we’re full—in every sense of the word. Would do it all again. Thanks to Dan & Flip Flop Tours for an amazing tour, educational & Cultural tour.

Tour groups not being my thing, Dan has made me see the light. The myriad of moving parts to our trip to the Copper Canyon was planned and executed... read more seamlessly. He’s a masterful herder of cats and group dynamics wizard. The Canyon with its other worldly vistas sells itself, serendipitously, the friendships that were forged are worth far more than the price of admission, I highly recommend ‘Flip Flop Tours’ and will be on Dan’s tours in the future. If you like coffee, the coffee tour is great. Best part was the short jungle walk to see the coffee plants on the margin of the jungle. Coffee... read more might have been 10% of the foliage. This is shade grown as it was meant to be. Of course we took some home. Tastes great. And every sip takes me back to the bush for an echo of our tour. Thanks Dan and Company. Keep on Coffeeing!

He’s extremely willing to share all of the information, no matter how many times he has to repeat it 🤣. The trip was extremely organized, there was not a glitch anywhere. The Canyon was beautiful, the accommodations were five star, and there was an abundance of food. We visited the Tarahumara, we zip lined the Canyon and we even rode bumper cars (a flash from the past) ! Please don’t hesitate to join him on an adventure!

Great people, great organization and our trip to Colima for the horse parade was spectacular. A must see as the parade literally had thousands of horses, many 'dancing'... read more to the music played but live bands on the floats. The tour organizers and guides were super friendly and knowledgable.
