Querétaro is a state located in the centre of Mexico, just over 2 hours from Mexico City. This colonial, yet also very modern city offers a rich history linked to the Independence of Mexico and the high-tech manufacturing industry of world renowned companies of the current age. Querétaro is also the gateway and starting point for routes into the Sierra Gorda for ecotourism, and also to the famous ‘Ruta de vino y queso’ – the wine and cheese route. Here we find large producers and local families, working next to each other and making a wide range of high quality and tasty products for our consumption both nationally and internationally.
Guanajuato is located in the Bajio between Guadalajara and Mexico City and is considered the heart and birthplace of Mexican Independence. It is a place full of history, dating from Pre-Hispanic times through to a more prominent period during Mexico’s colonial era. At one time it was producing over 70% of the world’s silver from its many mines, however, nowadays it has become known for its beautifully maintained colonial architecture and the mines are considered UNESCO World Heritage sites due to their coloured history.
Our tour will take you on a trip to see some of the highlights of both cities and their surrounding areas, with the help of our local guides to help you understand the rich history and culture that can be found there. We will have the chance to try fine wines and cheeses, see Mexico’s famous mummies, learn about the Mexican War of Independence and silver mining, as well as much more during our time in the centre of the country.
