3 Days In and Around Guadalajara
Join us on a 3 day visit to the capital of Jalisco and some of its surroundings. We have different itineraries for different dates so that you can see a selection of the fun and amazing places the city has to offer. Our tours all stay in the historic downtown centre within walking distance of the main plazas and some fantastic museums. Also a short bus or taxi ride away are many amazing world class restaurants offering all types of cuisine from fine dining to simple and traditional antojitos Mexicanos and street food.
Outside of the centre we visit a selection of the following areas on each tour:
Pueblo Mágico of Tequila
Opal mining town of Magdalena
Lakeside towns of Chapala & Ajijic
Street market and shopping in Tonalá
Galleries & boutiques in Tlaquepaque
Guachimontones archaeological site.

Trip Overview
Day 1: Melaque to Guadalajara, Historic Centre
We arrive in the Jalisco State capital in the early afternoon, after a 5-6 hour journey from the coast. We’ll offer a guided walking tour of the historic centre, including the Cathedral, Government Palace, and Degollado Theatre.
Accommodation: Guadalajara
Day 2: Magdalena & Tequila
In the morning, we’ll head about 70km north-west to the small town of Magdalena, famous for its minerally rich soil and where we’ll get the opportunity to visit a working opal mine! In the afternoon, we head back towards Guadalajara, making a stop in Tequila for lunch, a guided tour of the Pueblo Mágico’s town centre, and a tour and premium tasting session at the Jose Cuervo Tequila distillery.

Day 3: Tonalá, Tlaquepaque, & Return Travel
After breakfast we head over to the market area of Tonalá, where you’ll get the opportunity to shop till you drop! In the afternoon, we visit the pedestrianised centre of the Tlaquepaque area, known for its boutique shopping, galleries, and fantastic restaurants to grab a bit to eat!
